This NSW Government department plays a key role in enhancing community wellbeing and economic development through a focus on people, culture, and innovation. The People & Capability team supports approximately 1,200 employees and is currently undergoing an exciting period of systems transformation, including a payroll platform migration and organisational structure changes.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to contribute to meaningful public outcomes while building their career in people systems.

Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Director, People Systems and Analytics, and joining a small team of specialists, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for HRIS and payroll-related queries
  • Support the integrity of employee data and position structures within SAP (transitioning to MyWorkZone)
  • Run standard reports on areas such as headcount, leave, and locations
  • Work with payroll providers to troubleshoot issues and ensure accurate data flow
  • Assist with changes to organisational structure, including new roles, grade changes, and employment types
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data accuracy and reporting efficiency
  • Help train HR colleagues and business users in system use and compliance
  • Support broader systems improvement and establishment management projects

The Successful Applicant

This role would suit a systems-savvy HR professional or a strong administrator with excellent IT skills looking to specialise.

You will have:

  • Experience working with HRIS or payroll systems
  • Basic Excel skills
  • A clear and organised approach to managing data and reporting tasks
  • An interest in HR systems and people analytics
  • Strong attention to detail
