Akooramak Care of the Older Person is seeking a dedicated, experienced Clinical Nurse to join our friendly and supportive Clinical team.

Ideally you will be a Registered Nurse with a passion for aged care, in particular dementia and palliative care.

Who are we?

We are an independently run, not-for-profit aged care facility in Warwick, Queensland with 100 residential beds including a 28-bed purpose-built memory support unit.

We have been providing aged care services to the community of Warwick since 1876 and enjoy an established reputation for providing high quality, personalised care to all of our residents.

Our residents enjoy a person centred approach to care and are part of our welcoming community. Every resident is treated with warmth, respect and understanding and we work hard to develop trusting relationships with them and their loved ones.

Our Home is running well and is fully accredited.

Who are we seeking?

We are seeking a person- focused Registered Nurse with a passion for aged care who understands the importance of partnering with our residents and their families, to ensure high quality care.

What will your duties be?

Your responsibilities:

Provide clinical leadership and supervision of care teams including Registered & Enrolled Nurses, & Direct Care Workers
Identify clinical care issues and resolve them proactively within the care team.
Clinical planning and resident management.
Promote a culture of service delivery that aims to improve the lifestyle experiences of residents
Maintain an information system that supports and enhances the provision of accurate documentation relating to the resident
Clinical incident management and reporting
Responsible for Weekly S8 Management check, clinical indicator performance, evaluation and reporting
Infection prevention and control within clinical services

Support with meeting accreditation with Aged Care Quality Standards.

You must have:

Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA

A minimum of 2 years nursing experience (with a preference for aged care.)

Excellent communication skills

Reliability and commitment to work

Sound computer skills

Flu vaccination and COVID vaccinations - Highly encouraged.
