Position Details
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Chef to join the dynamic team at Pelican Waters Golf Club, Cardon Restaurant, supporting our kitchen across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
This is a full-time position with a rotating roster covering operating hours from 6:00am to 5:00pm, 7 days a week, with extended dinner service until 9:30pm on Friday evenings and a view to extend Saturday evenings in the near future as well.
Consequently, availability to work until 9.30pm Friday & Saturday evenings is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
Reporting to, and supporting our team of Head Chef and Sous Chef this role will aid the team in maintaining the quality and consistency of food preparation and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes according to recipes, portion sizes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency and precision in food preparation and presentation.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy services
- Support stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
- Ensure food preparation, workstation & storage areas are kept clean and organized in adherence to safe food practices & regulations.
- Ensure clear communication within the section, FOH and with other kitchen areas to ensure smooth service delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
To excel in this role, you will bring:
- Formal culinary qualifications (e.g., Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent);
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Chef
- High attention to detail in food preparation & presentation;
- A positive attitude and team-first mindset
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and events
- Excellent cooking skills and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, procedures and regulations
- Ability to take ownership of the assigned kitchen section, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
- Effective time management, the ability to prioritise tasks, and maintain an organised work environment under pressure or time constraints
