Job Description:

Salary: $55,110 plus superannuation

Qualifications & Experience:

Hold a relevant AQF Certificate III or equivalent, or higher qualification. You can also have 12 months of relevant work experience or part time equivalence in lieu of the qualification.

Polish language is a need due to clients needs,

Aged and Disability Carer is responsible for assisting with the provision of care to patients by ensuring wards are neat and tidy, lifting and turning patients and transporting them in wheelchairs or on movable beds, and providing direct care and support.

Task and Duties include (but not limited to):
  • Assisting people to perform important daily activities; Provide direct care assistance to each participant in accordance with their support plan and as directed by the Care Service Manager,
  • Facilitating daily personal hygiene and dressing tasks,
  • Performing home based tasks such as food preparation,
  • Performing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming and cleaning,
  • Undertaking tasks outside the home, such as shopping and run errands,
  • Ensuring a varied program of social activities,
  • Support participants to access activities and outings in the community,
  • Monitor the safety and well-being of the participants and report any concerns to the Care Service Manager,
  • Providing companionship, emotional support and friendship,
  • Assisting clients with their mobility
  • Support participants to take part in age appropriate activities and tasks including employment, in home support and community access,
  • Work with participants, family/ carers, relevant Care Service Managers and other professionals to support the participant’s individual goals,
  • In conjunction with other members of staff assist in developing, implementing and evaluating training and behaviour programs to attain identified individual goals,
  • Ensure that all programming undertaken is appropriately maintained, documented and reviewed,
  • Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety, procedures and participant right’s policies including privacy and confidentiality, and all other relevant Policy & Procedures
  • Ensure completion of appropriate and timely documentation; Relevant information on support provided is to be recorded in participant notes and communication book as required.
PERSONAL Care tasks RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES as Aged or Disability Carer:

Personal Care tasks include but are not limited to: Supervision and assistance with showering/bathing, sponging

Assistance with rising and retiring
Assistance with toileting and other personal hygiene functions
Assistance with dressing/undressing
Assistance with dental care, hair washing, grooming, shaving
Assistance with mobility - to sit up, to turn out of the bed, to stand to sit, to transfer to commode or wheelchair
Assistance with fitting aids/appliances
Assistance with exercise and therapy programs

Monitoring of well being

WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES as Aged and Disability Carer:

Participate in staff consultation processes around The Disability Work Health and Safety Policy and relevant specific work practices, Undertake compulsory WHS training, Ensure all Hazards are Manual handling (including use of hoists and positioning), Infection control, Be vigilant in monitoring individual work practices and report any concerns with respect to health and safety immediately to The Care Service Manager, Notify the Care Service Manager immediately in the event of equipment failure; Do not undertake any lifting against directions, Report all hazards to supervisor promptly on appropriate form, Report all incidents/accidents and injuries promptly, Carry out all duties with diligence and due care for personal safety and the safety of others, Ensure the safe usage of the wheelchair accessible bus.

Polish language is a need due to clients needs, AFP current check, driving licence, Statutory declaration re no criminal records in other countries of the residence.
