Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Electrician to join our maintenance team at WA Specialised Transport. The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems in our heavy vehicle fleet.This role plays a critical part in ensuring the operational reliability and safety of our transport equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Diagnostics and Repairs:
Perform diagnostic tests to identify electrical issues in heavy vehicles.Repair or replace faulty electrical components, including wiring, alternators, starters, and lighting systems.
Ensure all electrical repairs meet safety and regulatory standards.
Installation and Upgrades:
Install and configure new electrical systems, including GPS units, communication devices, and additional lighting.
Upgrade existing electrical systems to improve vehicle performance and safetyPreventative Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to prevent future issues.Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as battery checks, cable replacements, and system calibrations.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are serviced promptly and efficiently.Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed on vehicles.
Provide technical advice and support to other team members when necessary.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.Participate in safety training and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalentPrevious experience working with heavy vehicles and trailers (preferred).
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
