Contract Opportunity: Technology Controls Manager - Start ASAP | Global Financial Services Project

A high-profile global financial institution is seeking a Technology Controls Manager for an immediate-start contract role to support a critical audit and compliance engagement. This position will focus on SOx-related technology controls testing and provide subject matter expertise for a major enterprise data platform audit.

?️ Key Responsibilities:

  • SOx Technology Controls Testing:

Contribute to a large-scale internal audit initiative, focused on:

  • Design and Operating Effectiveness (OE) testing of IT General Controls and Application-level controls
  • Validation of remediation activities for previously identified control issues
  • Documentation of findings in the bank's internal audit systems
  • Engagement with stakeholders to conduct walkthroughs and issue confirmations
  • Year-end top-up testing aligned with SOx methodology
  • SME Support - Data Platform Strategy Audit:

Provide expert advisory for a data audit focused on the group's cloud transformation and adoption of data mesh architecture on Azure.

✅ Essential Experience:

  • Proven hands-on experience in testing Automated Controls - This is a must. CVs must include specific examples.
  • Deep knowledge of IT General Controls (e.g., access management, change management, backup & recovery)
  • Strong understanding of IT-dependent manual controls, interface testing, report re-performance, system configurations, and data validation logic
  • Comfortable with script reviews, system configuration analysis, and using data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-related controls across databases, OS, and network layers
  • Solid grasp of audit methodologies, including sampling techniques and documentation standards
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Engagement Timeline:
  • Initial onboarding & ramp-up: First phase of testing to be completed within 2 weeks of joining
  • Primary testing deadline: All activities due by 30 August 2025
  • Top-up testing window: Finalised by 10 October 2025
  • Issue validation period: 1 July - 30 September 2025
  • Location: Flexible / Remote with some stakeholder engagement
  • Start Date: ASAP

⏳ Duration: Through October 2025

  • Contract Type: Daily rate
