As a part of our growth strategy, we are opening a number of roles in the Networks area, that would suit platform engineers with a growth mindset. Our Network Observability team is looking to appoint a Principal Platform Engineer to support the ongoing process of automating existing environment and building new world class network solutions for the business.

This role will be working very closely with the wider Network team to design and implement Network Monitoring Solution for the Group.

Do work that matters:

  • Working with the wider team of Engineers, Product owners, Chapter leads and Crew Tech Leads on solution designs for Cloud Network Automation services
  • Maintaining overall accountability for the design and engineering of a platform, as well as setting and driving the agenda for key strategic initiatives.
  • Lead complex deliverables and solution planning, providing guidance and oversight to ensure that technical deliveries are aligned to engineering direction and strategy.
  • Design and implement simple solutions to complex problems, including retiring and removing obsolete systems architecture.
  • Provide engineering and design leadership for engineers and team members
  • Integrating to public cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Azure, and hybrid cloud network integration.
  • Ensure all services within the IT service portfolio are managed with consideration to network, capacity, platform, sociability/scalability factors and target architecture

We're interested in hearing from people who possess the following:

  • Extensive programming experience in a complex enterprise (programming language - Python)
  • Experience in building AWS cloud-based solutions
  • Experience in setting platform roadmaps and establishing technical pathways to the desired end state
  • Grafana stack admin experience - full life-cycle management of Grafana stack
  • Experience with software deployment systems (Kubernetes)
  • Foundational network knowledge and/or network engineering background
  • Understanding micro-service driven architecture
  • Experience and ability to take a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Experience mentoring junior and senior engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
