Your Next Opportunity:We now have an exciting opportunity available for experienced Building Management System (BMS) Service Technicians to join our team and provide high-quality service to our clients across Metro Sydney and, occasionally, the wider NSW region.
This is an autonomous role where you’ll be based on-site managing a portfolio of 15-20 clients, and will have the opportunity to investigate, troubleshoot and fix problems, as well as conduct routine maintenance.
You will be supported by a great team reporting to our operations manager, as well as the wider EC Group business across Sydney.
Working across multiple industries including healthcare, defence, education, retail, and recreation, you’ll build strong customer relationships with your client base and continuously scope for opportunities for improvement.
Job Summary:The BMS (Building Management System) Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of BMS systems, including complex electronic instruments and control systems. This role involves monitoring and optimising system performance, providing technical support, and troubleshooting issues to ensure the efficient operation of building management systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Install design and configure BMS (electronic instruments and control systems) hardware and software for commercial and industrial
- Conduct routine testing and inspections, carry out preventative maintenance of electronic components, circuits and control systems.
- Reassembling, adjustment, repair and replacement of system components as required.
- Analyse system performance data and implement improvements. establishing and monitoring performance and fault diagnosis.
- Perform modification, maintenance and repair of BMS systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair BMS issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of system performance and repairs.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex issues.
- Document and report system performance and issues.
- Advise end users of correct operating procedures to ensure proper operation prevent malfunction of equipment.
- Proven experience with building management systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic principals in commissioning and
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant technical certification or degree.
- Experience with BMS systems such as Honeywell, Schneider, or similar.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites.
- The role may require working in various environments, including commercial buildings, industrial sites, and residential complexes.
- The technician may need to work outside regular business hours to address urgent issues.
