About the role
We are looking for Maintenance Assistant & Handyperson who will report to the Maintenance Manager and will be instrumental in supporting the Maintenance Manager, ensuring the smooth operation of the hotels' maintenance activities.
This role will help maintain optimal functionality and reliability of hotel facilities, while fostering a collaborative environment to address any issues promptly and effectively. You will be a key part of maintaining the properties safe and functional with a focus on keeping all hotel areas in top condition for guests and staff.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the Hotels
- Complete daily plant rounds and note for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.
- Carry out maintenance on equipment and maintenance requirements to ensure acceptable availability and reliability.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, used and stored correctly.
- Assist in keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Liaise with relevant teams regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out of order areas of the Hotels are brought back into use as soon as possible.
- Record all maintenance tasks performed complete and incomplete including any necessary reports in reference to repairs and preventative schedules.
- Plan and prioritise jobs to ensure deadlines are met and emergencies are handled appropriately.
- Ensure the workshop is maintained in a safe and clean working condition.
- Perform duties on a shift roster basis as required.
- Attend to other duties as requested.
- Proficiency or ability to learn the use of Hub OS and HumanForce.
- Must be in good physical condition, capable of handling duties without significant health issues
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on service quality

- Proficient in working independently, showing initiative in a fast-paced setting
- Highly motivated and energetic

- Minimum 12 months demonstrated experience in general building maintenance.
- Previous experience working in hotel / resort / hospitality settings is preferred.
- Trade qualification is preferred.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools.
- Basic computer skills
- Good level of spoken English
