Role Summary
CHC are seeking a Crew Planner to join our team based in the Perth Corporate Office.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Control Centre Manager, this role is responsible for the scheduling of training for pilots and technical crew in accordance with the CHC Operations Manuals and CASA regulations. This role will be required to coordinate with the short-term planners and third party vendors to ensure the training is arranged in the most cost and time efficient manner.
The role involves the development and management of the rosters for the CHC Australia Offshore Operations (>30 days). The planner will analyse the rosters for pilots to ensure compliance is met with respect to the approved Work Practices under the FRMS, roster coverage is maintained and compliance to the EBA.
Cross Training in other areas of the Regional Operations Control Centre (ROCC) is also part of the role to ensure the business and Operations Centre has built in resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- A safety champion who will challenge unsafe acts and pursue improvements in safety behaviour within the business.
- In consultation with the SIM Training Planner (in the IO&PC Dallas) ensure the SIMs are captured and planned for in accordance with the training requirements.
- Work directly with Pilot Trainers to coordinate base training and compliance checks.
- Monitor, organize and schedule third party crew training such as HUET/TBOSIET/EBS/FIRST AID/ADVANCE RESUS/DG.
- Assist in travel and accommodation bookings IAW EBA and cost saving initiatives.
- Develop the offshore pilot rosters and manage amendments >30 days.
- Process leave request >30 days for Offshore Pilots.
- Ensure all rosters are captured correctly and in the most cost effective manner.
- Ensure the scheduling information system is current and accurate at all times.
- Monitor schedules to optimise the use of all resources whilst maintaining the integrity and safety of the operations as per contract requirements.
- Ensure that crew members assigned to contracts are qualified and meet contractual requirements.
- Communicate scheduling assignments and pertinent information to the crew members and ensure that any questions or concerns are handled in a timely manner.
- Be fully conversant with the FRMS and associated Work Practices/EBA currently in use.
- Assist with long term schedule management in AIMS/iSAR for the engineering operations.
- Additional hours including weekends may be required. Management/responsibility of the Operations Scheduling Company issued mobile phone.
- Travel interstate and overseas if required.
- Complete additional duties as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- Minimum Year 12 or equivalent
- Cert IV in Training is desirable
- Demonstrated experience as a Scheduler or Planner with an understanding of EBA’s essential.
- Excellent computer skills especially with Microsoft Suite products, particularly with Excel.
- Good Recording Management experience using various document management systems.
- Maintaining accurate, timely and appropriate personnel records;
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills with experience using spreadsheets and/or quantitative modeling
- Demonstrated project experience
- Strong problem solving, organisation skills.
- Good time management skills to effectively manage conflicting priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written, verbal and listening.
- Motivated to take initiative to identify and anticipate department’s needs and make recommendations for implementation
- A team player and an individual contributor within a collaborative team environment.
