The Windmill Hotel invites applications for an experienced Chef.
Location: 94 Main Road North, Prospect SA 5082Full time: 38 hours per week
Salary: $76,515.00 per annum + Superannuation
Key responsibilities will include: Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentationDiscussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Preparing and cooking food
Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
May select and train staff
May freeze and preserve foods
Required skills and attributes:- 2 years of work experience in a fast-paced kitchen
Modern, contemporary and innovative culinary skills
Knowledge of food and catering trends
Considers quality, technique, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation critical to success
Delivers a high-quality product that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations
Adhere to work health and safety laws, food safety standards and allergen requirements
Monitor costs across portion control, waste minimization and stock management
Ensure a premium and consistent approach to all levels of food and service delivery
Able to work autonomously as required and remain calm under pressure to ensure professionalism is maintained
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people (suppliers, customers, employees and management)
Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a calm and methodical manner
