THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on professional experience in a dynamic business. You'll play a vital role in supporting the wider finance team and business with a range of accounting tasks.You will be provided with structure, training, guidance and advice as you begin your career and start building your capabilities within a friendly and supportive environment. Gain access to senior finance and accounting professionals and join a highly respected company in the non-bank lending space.
Not only will you gain confidence and experience within an accounting remit and role, you will also gain exposure across a range of client-facing duties. Speak to our borrowers, understand their requirements, learn about the industry and build your communication and customer service skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Daily accounting duties directed by the wider team.
- Providing assistance and support to senior accountants and the financial controller.
- Managing month end reporting, ledgers, loans, and transfers.
- Monthly reconciliation duties whilst ensuring a high level of attention to detail and eye for accuracy through reporting.
- Assisting with auditing to a high degree of accuracy.
- Managing customer enquires via phone call, email and visitors when required.
- Manage borrower loan administration tasks.
- Direct debit management and upkeep.
- Manage daily financial and banking procedures such as reconciliation duties.
- Supporting with the preparation of redraws.
- Assist with all auditors communication and requirements.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful in this unique role, you will possess the following qualities:
- Recently graduated from a degree that majored/specialised in accounting.
- Looking to gain your CPA/CA qualification over the next few years.
- Very high levels of attention to detail – you double check your work, cross-check your actions according to set processes and do not rely on systems to provide you with assurance that your work is correct.
- Proactiveness and ability to use initiative.
- Excellent mathematical and numerical aptitude.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Able, and keen, to work effectively in a team environment.
- Possess relationship building skills with internal and external counterparts.
- Able to attend the office environment 5 days per week.
