We are seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Officer to join our high performing team at Swinburne University and provide administrative support for the fundraising team activities of the University Advancement Office.

As the Philanthropy Officer, you will be responsible for key areas, particularly coordination and oversight of donor funded scholarships, payment requests, receipts, and research about potential funders, including Trusts and Foundations. You will also provide support for donor engagement activities such as events support, stewardship activities and will be required to use the Advancement Office CRM, Raiser's Edge.

This role provides administrative support to the Associate Director and broader Philanthropy team to assist with delivering the strategy and objectives of the Advancement Office.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills with high-level presentation skills and the ability to effectively prepare communications for various stakeholders (e.g. senior staff, donors) as requested.
  • Demonstrated ability to source, analyse and research from multiple sources, and disseminate information.
  • High level organisational and planning skills and the ability to handle various and multiple tasks simultaneously and under pressure with strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with a CRM and sound working knowledge in the use of standard Microsoft software packages.
  • Demonstrated interest, understanding and experience of fundraising and philanthropy in Australia and knowledge of a Higher Education operating environment would be highly desirable.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a degree; or completion of an associate diploma and some subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
