Finance Analyst

6 month day rate contract with the opportunity to extend * Parramatta based with WFH flex * Must have CA or CPA with strong FP&A background Join a large State Government organisation as their next Finance Analyst to provide financial and commercial analysis and reporting to support both operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, phase, and load operating (Opex) and capital expenditure (Capex) budgets, forward estimates, and reforecasts into the financial system, aligning with corporate planning and reporting timelines.
• Analyse organisational and organisational performance, highlighting key variances, deviations, and trends to guide forecasting, risk identification, and funding/resource allocation strategies.
• Deliver financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis support to both the Finance team and broader business units.
• Maintain comprehensive records of budget decisions and updates to ensure financial data is accurate and current.
• Compile and validate financial data for external reporting requirements, including regulatory bodies and benchmarking surveys
• Contribute to the review and enhancement of accounting systems, procedures, and processes, particularly in budgeting and forecasting, to drive best practices.
• Prepare financial data and insights for business cases, aiding in the identification and quantification of benefits.

Key Challenges:

• Deliver actionable insights and commentary on financial and commercial analyses to enable effective decision-making.
• Balance competing priorities while maintaining high accuracy and adherence to deadlines in financial reporting and forecasting.

Key Requirements:

• CA or CPA Qualified
• Strong FP&A experience
