MOOMOO AU, a leading online trading platform, is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Sydney. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, supporting month-end and year-end tasks, and collaborating with internal stakeholders both locally and internationally.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing high volumes of transactions while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Scope of Work- The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:
- Accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconciling accounts and performing daily bank reconciliations.
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and tax filings (e.g., GST, FBT, annual company tax returns).
- Providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting function.
- Managing multiple internal stakeholders across local and international teams.
- Accounts Payable Management: Prepare and execute accounts payable processes with accuracy.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily bank reconciliations and accounting entries to ensure accurate financial records.
- Month-End & Year-End Support: Assist with closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Cash Flow & Budgeting: Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts and annual budgets.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings such as GST, FBT, and annual company tax returns to ensure compliance with Australian regulations.
- Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support as required.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional tasks as needed to support the finance team.
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Progression towards CPA or CA qualification is highly desirable.
- 6–12 months of experience in accounts payable or a similar role is essential.
- Experience with month-end processes and reconciliations is advantageous.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle or Xero.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of transactions efficiently.
