Key Accountabilities
- Undertake routine servicing, maintenance, and modifications to all farm vehicles, required.
- Complete all works within defined time frames and in the most cost-effective manner according to maintenance schedules.
- Ensure the maintenance history for farm vehicles, are recorded, and that relevant records and reports are prepared as required.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of workshop projects, taking responsibility as directed.
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts, dismantling, and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
- Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components and referring to service manuals as needed.
- Reassemble engines and parts after being repaired. Test and adjust mechanical parts after repair to ensure proper performance.
- Provide feedback to drivers, and other employees on routine inspection and servicing of farm vehicles entrusted to their care.
- Ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of tools, equipment, and company resources.
- Maintain inventory records and procure mechanical parts and equipment as required.
- Respond to emergency vehicle breakdown calls.
- All other requirements as directed to achieve business objectives.
- Observe and comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure personal safety and that of others.
- Report and identify hazards, incidents including near misses or injuries which arise in the course of work.
- No injury or incidents which negatively impact safety or the environment.
- Observe and comply with all quality and food safety policies and procedures.
- Understand the site’s commitment, and ongoing compliance, to the Freshcare Food Safety and Quality Standard.
- Demonstrate compliance with the site’s food safety, access, and movement requirements.
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure quality assurance policies and procedures are always adhered to.
- Report and identify concerns related to quality standards which arise in the course of work.
- Vehicles, farm plant and equipment are maintained in good working order.
- Servicing, maintenance, and repair schedules are maintained in accordance with company policies, procedures, and business needs.
- Procurement of new and modifications to existing equipment to meet business needs.
- Proactive elimination of repeat faults.
- Ensure hygiene standards are maintained in line with the company hygiene policy.
- Maintain cleanliness of the workshop and work locations.
- Responsiveness to a 24/7 operational environment.
- Flexible work hours dependent on operational requirements.
- Availability to work weekends and after hours on a rotating roster.
- Availability to attend after hour vehicle breakdowns and vehicle retrievals as required.
- Certificate IV level qualification (certified trade) or equivalent plus at least 2 years of relevant experience OR at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in mechanical services.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of engine repair, mechanical and electrical systems, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with a mechanical workshop plant and equipment.
- Ability to confidently diagnose faults on site and in the workshop.
- Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence (essential)

An attractive remuneration package between $80,000-90000 is available to the right candidates.
