Project Lead

This role will be reporting to a Registered Architect from a highly regarded architectural and planning practice with clientele across Sydney, Queensland, Victoria and the Middle East.
- Take the lead in designing and delivering key components of a large masterplan project, or multiple smaller projects or project segments.
- Develop design solutions in alignment with the Project Design Director’s brief and overall design vision.
- Address design details and propose solutions that stay true to the project’s direction and objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with all project team members to ensure seamless integration and progress.
- Clearly communicate and present design concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Be open to feedback and demonstrate the ability to incorporate it into evolving design solutions.
- Mentor and support the development of less experienced design team members.
- Work closely with other Project Leads and team members to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved on schedule and in accordance with the Project Director’s brief.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of project outputs to meet both interim targets and final goals.
- Provide design advice on acquisitions and pre-construction delivery of development projects that lend support to Mintus and other related assets, the objective being to support the strategic growth and expansion of commercial and residential projects
- Assist with leasing executives to prepare mock-up/ draft store design to help lease retail sites
- Provide full documentation including hydraulic, electrical, architectural, signage, fittings and fixtures, RCP, lighting plan, and any other documentation required to provide builders with a full set of drawings, and for a certifier or planning authority to sign off on
- Assist in developing the design direction for each asset in the Mintus portfolio
- Lead a customer-centric design approach to deliver compelling customer experiences. Conceptualise and develop expert and innovative design solutions to enhance customer experiences and deliver on each asset’s unique identity
- Produce expert and creative solutions from the inception stage of design work through to final production, where necessary coordinating work produced by external parties in response to design brief, produce materials to convey concepts and obtain sign off. Scope covers all public realm elements for assets under redevelopment as well as key ambience projects for operational assets
- Develop the creative direction for each asset, develop materials to convey concepts and translation of each assets unique translation into design to resonate with local market.
- To provide design review services to incoming Lessee designs across all usage disciplines in accordance with pre-established design strategies for static centre requirements, local statutory body requirements and or development requirements
- Manage the tenancy coordination process in accordance with our asset fit outs guides and relevant leasing deal
- Identify tenant fit out procurement issues early and propose feasible solutions in a timely manner
- Formulate and continually update a standard fit out guideline for each asset
- Be aware of all government legislation relating to the role and understand the protocols and processes to follow
- Continuous monitoring and follow up with all third-party consultants, professionals, contractors and authorities ensuring timely and smooth communication at all times. This includes determining the parameters of a construction project as well as construction objectives such as budget and time factors.
- Maintain strong relationships with national and state-based retailers to ensure a smooth transition from deal to opening.
- Weekly reporting on all matters with a detailed report as well as a brief summary for the director of the organisation to immediately review in a short time frame
- Maintain an up-to-date Retail Design Library with latest retail images / trends / retail formats/ samples etc
- Provide timely reporting internally, and quick response to internal requests for information. Attend meetings / forums nominated by your Manager.
- Ability to work across multiple projects and sites at various stages, simultaneously managing your workload
- Willingness to travel to assets as needed, some interstate travel required. Make periodic visits to the building site to monitor progress, interpret documents and review the overall progress of the work being carried out.
- Oversee of external architects, review and comment on plans, guidance, and oversight.
- Create architectural designs based on customer input and feedback. Research, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials and systems.
- Prepare and execute contracts pursuant to specific consultations and adjust contracts and designs to meet the changing needs of differing stakeholder.
- Draft designs that reflect green building values and cater to our clients’ desires for smaller carbon footprints
- Adhere to all industry standards in designing buildings and structures that are aesthetically pleasing as well as energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, functional and safe.
- Communicate with contractors and construction workers to implement designs and or changes.
- Oversee and manage architectural production staff
- +3yrs relevant experience
- Architecture, Interior Architecture and or Interior Design degree and or certificate
- Fantastic time management and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrable Construction knowledge / understanding
- Budgeting
- Project management skills
- Graphic design and creative application experience
- Comfortable communicating with variety of stakeholders
- Business / entrepreneurial acumen to seek best practice solutions
- Creative design application to seek, improve, motivate, and drive third-party designs to a higher level in sync with all stakeholders’ expectations
- Own reliable transport and valid licence.
