Current Opening:
This opportunity is a full-time position (38 hours per week).
Position Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Develop detailed and accurate technical drawings and blueprints based on specifications provided by civil engineers and project managers.
- Utilise Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software proficiently to create 2D and 3D models, ensuring precision and adherence to project requirements.
- Maintain organised documentation of drawings, plans and revisions, ensuring all design changes are accurately recorded and communicated.
- Work closely with civil engineers and other team members to interpret design concepts, address issues and incorporate necessary modifications into drawings.
- Stay updated on relevant building codes, zoning regulations and other standards to ensure that all drafted plans comply with legal and safety requirements.
- Collaborate in the estimation process by providing accurate quantity take-offs and material lists based on drafted plans, aiding in project budgeting.
- Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to identify potential errors, discrepancies, or areas for improvement, ensuring the final plans meet quality standards.
- Effectively communicate technical information to team members, contractors and other stakeholders, facilitating a clear understanding of the design intent.
- Manage workloads and deadlines effectively, coordinating with project managers to ensure timely completion of drafting tasks within project timelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
- AQF associate degree, advanced diploma or diploma or relevant qualifications.
- A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of drafting techniques, symbols, and standards relevant to civil engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex engineering concepts and convert them into precise technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with civil engineers, project managers and other team members.
- Thoroughness in reviewing and documenting design changes and revisions.
- Understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant standards to ensure compliance in drafted plans.
- Efficient workflow management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to troubleshoot and find practical solutions to design challenges, contributing to the overall success of engineering projects.
Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $90,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
