Head Dance Teacher - Sydney
Dance More is a dance school based in Chatswood NSW. We offer private dance tuition for any level in both individual and group dance classes, with classes offered in the Sydney NSW and Wollongong NSW areas.
Dance More offers classes in a range of different dance styles – including Bachata, Salsa, Wedding Dance, Hip Hop, Brazilian zouk, Forró, Brazilian Sertanejo, Magic Mike and more!
We are currently looking to employ a Head Dance Teacher to manage our dance program and lead our dance classes in New South Wales. The Head Dance Teacher will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of all Dance More’s dance classes, working with a growing team of dance instructors.
As Head Dance Teacher, you will be charged with:
- Conducting dance classes covering a range of dance-styles for both groups and individuals
- Demonstrating various dance techniques to junior instructors and students
- Designing and developing dance programs and classes suitable for various dance levels (e.g. beginners / intermediate / advanced)
- Leading, guiding and overseeing the team of dance instructors
- Creating instructional material and training content for classes
- Liaising with students about their dance needs and expectations and providing guidance and advice accordingly
- Advising students on dance competitions and shows
- Organising and choreographing student dance performances and events
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new dance styles, techniques and teaching methods
The position is a full-time role, working at least 38 hours per week, with flexible work hours (morning / afternoon / evening) including weekdays and weekends.
Full-time salary: $74,000 - $75,000

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Qualifications and/or extensive experience (at least 3-5 years) as a dance teacher/instructor
- Knowledge of a range of dance styles and particularly Latin/Brazilian dance – e.g. salsa, hip hop, samba, zouk, forro, vanera, bachata etc.
- Knowledge of the dance industry in Australia
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience teaching at both individual and group level
- Outgoing and friendly personality with strong personal skills
- Organisational and time-management abilities
- Punctual and reliable
- Passionate and enthusiastic about dance
- Experience in choreography
- Ability to travel and work in different locations and at different times
