POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Painting Trades Worker, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional painting services in line with RPND's commitment to quality and professionalism. The role involves preparing surfaces, applying paints and finishes, and ensuring the aesthetic and functional enhancement of client properties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assemble scaffolding and ladders, and place drop sheets to protect surrounding areas from paint splatters.
Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces.Select and mix paints to achieve required colors, incorporating pigments, oils, and additives for thinning and drying.
Apply paints, varnishes, and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
Hang wallpaper with attention to pattern alignment and edge trimming.
Clean tools, equipment, and work areas to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
Repair windows and replace glass in wooden or metal frames as needed.
Lay and repair wall and floor tiles, ensuring precision and durability.
REQUIREMENTS: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Completion of AQF Certificate III or IV in Painting and Decorating or equivalent.A minimum of 1 year of practical experience in painting and decorating.
Proficiency in handling painting tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with decorative techniques such as stenciling, marbling, or faux finishes.
Experience in using advanced spray painting equipment.
Knowledge of environmentally sustainable painting practices.
