About the Role:This role is dedicated to working collaboratively with the kitchen staff to produce consistently high quality meals. It requires practicing and teaching portion control, quality control, waste management, and product preparation techniques to ensure excellence in every dish served.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and practices across the kitchen.
- Training, mentoring, and developing junior kitchen staff to foster a culture of excellence.
- Overseeing the preparation and presentation of food to meet the expectations of our diverse clientele.
- Collaborating with the team across our multifaceted kitchens to ensure smooth operations during peak times and special events.
- Demonstrate superior recipe knowledge for every item on the Hotel’s menus.
- Passion for excellence and great attention to detail in every dish you create.
- 2–3 years’ experience working in fast-paced kitchens, ideally within Asian/Japanese restaurants of a similar quality.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with your peers.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Solid understanding of food cost and production processes, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
- Trade cooking qualifications (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery) are essential.
- A strong leadership style and work ethic, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
