Diesel Fitter/Diesel Motor Mechanic

Salary: $73,150 + superannuation

Privateer Labour is seeking experienced Diesel Fitter/Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their team. These roles will suit individuals who have a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety and an ability to manage time and work effectively as part of a team.

• Identifying and troubleshooting issues in engines and electrical systems.
• Taking apart and removing components like engines, transmissions, and steering systems, while inspecting parts for damage or wear.
• Fixing or replacing faulty or worn parts, then reassembling components, consulting service manuals when necessary.
• Conducting routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups, to optimize vehicle performance and meet environmental standards.
• Rebuilding engines and components after repairs are completed.
• Testing and fine-tuning repaired parts to ensure they function correctly.
• Using computer-based diagnostics to assess and test components.
• Potentially inspecting vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or outlining repairs needed for compliance.
• Possibly attending to roadside breakdown calls for vehicle assistance.

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma
• Must have at least 2 years of relevant industry work experience
• Excellent writing and speaking skills
• Ability to work with a team and time management skills
