Our award-winning function venue located 35 minutes from the CBD is looking for a full-time chef (Chef De Partie) to join our kitchen team. We are looking for a chef with excellent attention to detail who shows initiative, enjoys what they do, and works well in a team environment.
Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year

You must have at least 2 years of relevant experience and be suitably qualified (minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience). Salary of $65,000 - $75,000 + super for this full-time position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Setting up the kitchen before a venue opening
- To prepare food from seasonally changing menus
- Prepare, produce, and service food to the standard required promptly and efficiently.
- Assisting with marinating, cutting, and precooking foods
- Cleaning the kitchen before the venue closes
- Cleaning and sanitizing their area with warm water and soap
- Wrapping unused items and storing them in proper areas at the end of a shift
- Plating food creatively and maximizing customer enjoyment
- To manage own kitchen section during service
- Prepare reports, including recording food temperatures.
- Practice and promote effective teamwork and communication amongst your direct work colleagues and colleagues in other departments
- Ensure compliance with inhouse HACCP and food hygiene, health, and safety systems.
- Completing duties with an attitude of always striving to exceed standards to promote improvements and raise the quality of feedback from all guests.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Chef or in a similar role. Must include previous experience in high-volume wedding and events space.
- Qualification: Minimum of a relevant Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience.
- Availability: A willingness to work evenings, weekends, etc.
- Skills: Strong culinary skills, including knife handling, cooking techniques, and familiarity with a variety of cuisines.
- Knowledge: Understanding of seasonal ingredients, kitchen safety, and sanitation practices.
- Attributes: Strong work ethic and positive attitude. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
