Responsibilities:

Focusing primarily on Australia, working closely with the Partners, and supported by the Head of BD & Marketing for Insurance Services and Country Managing Partner, you will help formulate a co-ordinated and fully integrated Business Development plan for DWF in Australia.

Working closely with Partners and other leaders, key stakeholders, and the wider, national and global BD & Marketing team, this is an exciting, all-encompassing role across all aspects of business development, marketing and account management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Devise and deliver on a Australia business development plan focusing on global key clients;
  • Lead and guide in the delivery of the plan to meet Australia-wide growth objectives;
  • Develop key client growth plans for Australia (often in the context of a global relationship);
  • Support the execution of business development strategies and techniques to identify, generate and pursue growth opportunities with the aforementioned key clients;
  • Support the delivery of bids, tenders, proposals and pitches to key clients;
  • Line manage other Marketing & BD team members in Australia to deliver general marketing and business development activities, including events, client account management, brand and profile raising, including supporting the reporting requirements of the business.
  • To quickly build credibility and good working relationships within the team, with the Senior Leadership team the business in Australia, and with other Central Services teams to ensure engagement with, and delivery of, business development activities in line with business strategy.
  • Taking the lead, alongside the Country Managing Partner of our growth strategy and key objectives for Australia by positively engaging colleagues and clients, and adding value by driving the conversation and identifying good marketing and BD opportunities.

What will help you succeed in this role?:

Essential
  • 7 years general business development and/or marketing experience in a B2B environment.
  • Articulate and confident with strong business acumen.
  • Knowledge of the local market and business community.
  • Flexibility to ensure delivery against (sometimes very tight) timescales.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at any time.
  • Previous experience of organising events (virtual and in-person).
  • Ability to travel within Australia to other offices as needed.
Desirable
  • Experience of working in professional services is highly desirable.
  • French language is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the legal sector and the market in Australia in particular.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Teams and Teams Webinar and/or GoToWebinar
  • Ability to travel occasionally more widely to e.g. London to participate in meetings.
  • Degree educated or significant track-record in this arena.
