Job Responsibilities
Manufacture precision components and tooling using CNC and manual machines including lathes, milling machines, EDM, surface grinders, and borers in line with customer and project specifications.
Repair and maintain mechanical components for industrial machinery across the mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, agricultural, and general manufacturing sectors, both in-house and on client sites when required.
Fabricate jigs, dies, fixtures, and assemblies for custom applications, ensuring accuracy and durability in performance-critical environments.
Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering documentation to produce intricate components within tight tolerances.
Work with a wide variety of materials including alloy steels, stainless steel, Inconel, cast iron, aluminium, bronze, and industrial plastics — ensuring proper selection, treatment, and handling for each application.
Collaborate closely with Inventec’s engineering team to develop cost-effective solutions for complex or urgent tooling and component needs.
Maintain a strong focus on safety and quality, adhering to Inventec’s Incident & Injury Free (IIF) culture and OH&S protocols during all stages of machining and assembly.
Ensure fast turnaround and job completion within set production timelines, including the flexibility to work night shifts if required for urgent client orders.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of manufacturing processes by offering insights, participating in toolbox meetings, and embracing new technologies and techniques.
Conduct inspections and testing of parts to validate dimensional accuracy, material integrity, and performance reliability before final delivery.
Support maintenance contracts by assisting in the scheduled servicing of client machinery and equipment, both locally and regionally.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalentAt least 2 years of experience operating CNC machines
Comfortable using tools and maintaining machinery
Familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC software
Preferred:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesValues precision and enforces quality standards
Ability to understand G-code
