About You- A Commercial Cookery Certificate (essential)
- Experience in a similar Chef role (minimum 3 years’ experience preferred)
- Food Safety Supervisor course (essential – we can help you out with this one!)
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality food unsupervised, with knowledge of all sections
- Strong communication skills with the ability to control and direct food preparation process
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure all dishes are up to standard
- Leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor a small team
- Entitlement to work in Australia with no restrictions
- Must not be affected by sea sickness
About The Role
We’re looking for a casual Chef to join our kitchen brigade, with increased hours available as we head into our peak season. On average this position will work 20-30 hours per week.
Working predominantly on our marine vessel, the Chef is responsible for end-to-end kitchen operations and directing the food preparation process to ensure the highest standard and quality of food production for our guests. The Chef is hands-on in preparing and cooking all dishes on our dinner cruises, and must ensure that the kitchen meets all regulations including hygiene and food safety guidelines.
A standard working day may be up to 12 hours between 7:00am – 12:00am, across any of the seven days in the calendar week, including weekends and public holidays. Shifts commence and finish at Stokes Hill Wharf in Darwin City.
