About the Role

We have multiple opportunities available for motivated Waiters (Cruise Attendants) to join our team here at Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney. These are casual positions with an immediate start. In this role, you are primarily responsible for greeting and assisting guests, delivering premium food and beverage services, vessel and passenger safety, vessel presentation and conducting safety briefings.

This position is at the heart of our onboard hospitality - welcoming guests, providing premium food and beverage service, and ensuring every interaction reflects warmth, professionalism, and genuine care.

In this fast‑paced marine environment, you’ll handle a variety of tasks, including guest engagement, bar & table service, communicating orders to the kitchen, processing payments, and maintaining high standards of vessel presentation. You’ll be part of an energetic Front of House team, working closely with the kitchen crew and other onboard team to ensure seamless service throughout each journey.

Success in this role means bringing a guest‑first mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and organised while multitasking. You’ll also contribute to delivering safe operations by following all relevant health, safety, and food handling procedures.

Requirements

About You

Education/Experience:

  • Valid NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Competency Card (required)
  • Food Safety/Handling certified
  • Provide First Aid (advantageous)
  • Previous hospitality experience

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:

  • Background in hospitality environments & experience delivering high‑quality service
  • Excellent customer service skills, dedication to meeting the expectations of all external and internal customers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills, sound cash handling skills, stock rotation and control skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong crowd management & public speaking skills advantageous
  • Strong personal presentation skills
  • A cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity to the needs of others
  • A strong team ethic
  • Must not be affected by sea sickness
  • Have the necessary working entitlements to work in Australia

A pre-employment medical and National Police Check may be required as part of this recruitment process.
