Spatial Architect/Consultant – Data & Platforms

You will be able to design GIS solutions with hands-on spatial programming capability, configuration and administering capability (web and mobile web apps/maps) and GIS analysis skills.

THE WORK:

• FME support & development:
• Design, setup, configure, troubleshoot and performance tune FME platforms (Form and Flow) and develop FME processes for customer integrations.
• Support our FME environments and provide senior FME specialist support services for our team and for wider Accenture.
• GIS Platform Implementation & support:
• Setup, configure, troubleshoot and performance tune GIS platforms for Server/Portal-based Enterprise GIS Solutions and other viable customer requested spatial platforms (e.g., Hexagon, MapInfo, open-source GIS).
• Support our cloud based Esri demo environment and ensure that it is kept up to date, secure and correctly licensed. Advise clients on similar environments.
• Configure, troubleshoot and performance tune ArcGIS for Server-based Enterprise GIS Solutions (Installs, Upgrades and Testing done by the other Accenture teams).
• Client engagement & consulting:
• Support for gathering spatial client requirements and translating client requirements into high-level solutions for further consultation.
• Provide consulting services on Esri technology and other GIS technologies when viable.
• Consult directly with Accenture client managers and technical resources in the implementing of Esri and other GIS solutions.
• Through interfacing and discussions with differing levels of clients, capture customer spatial requirements and present the relevant technical solution at customer visits, presentations and other follow up meetings and workshops.
• Prepare customer and industry presentations.
• Support the writing of user and administrator documentation, release notes and training materials.
• Technical planning & strategy:
• Review project spatial requirements and recommend appropriate hardware and/or software configurations.
• Perform software and hardware planning, licensing, acquisition, and maintenance.
• Design and implement Backup, Network Security and Disaster Recovery strategies with other Accenture teams.
• With guidance from Head of Spatial Services evaluate new/emerging technologies and how they might be of use to Accenture and Accenture's clients.
• Take ownership of Accenture’s (future) internal cloud-based virtual server (and workstation) infrastructure and ensure that it is kept up to date, secure and correctly licensed. Advise clients on similar issues.
• Support spatial software and hardware planning, licensing, acquisition, and maintenance.
• Internal & external collaboration:
• Assist other Accenture teams and countries with questions & issues deploying & integrating Esri product suite.
• Establish and maintain strong, healthy professional relationships with clients, partners, and affiliates and with Accenture teammates across all Accenture offices.
• Participate in spatial design and troubleshooting discussions with clients and teammates via in-person meetings, site visits, phone calls, video conference sessions and e-mail.
• Explain technical issues and solutions to audiences of widely varying technical abilities.
• Project management, sales & documentation:
• Report progress to clients, Head of Spatial Services and when assigned to a project the appropriate coordinator or project manager.
• Support effort and cost estimates for tenders and proposals.
• Achieve project budgets and schedules and help maximize company success, reputation, and profitability.
• Write technical portions of project proposals.
