Electrical Engineering Draftsperson (Fire System Design Specialist)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Draftsperson with a specialization in Fire System Design to join our dynamic team in Alexandria. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical drafting and design support for fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and fire safety regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to meet project requirements and deadlines.
Site Assessments: Occasionally assist with site inspections to gather data and ensure that fire system designs are practical and effective for specific project sites.
Project Documentation: Maintain clear and organized records of all project documentation, revisions, and approvals.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical drafting with a focus on fire safety systems design.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software used for electrical/fire system drafting.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian Standards.
Attention to Detail: Excellent drafting and design skills with a strong eye for detail.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and liaising with clients and contractors.
Understanding of fire engineering principles and systems, such as fire alarm, detection, and suppression systems.
Previous experience in the commercial and residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
Fire System Design: Create detailed electrical and fire system designs, including layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel designs for fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and other related safety systems.
Technical Drafting: Produce high-quality technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and other relevant design software.Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and fire safety regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to meet project requirements and deadlines.
Site Assessments: Occasionally assist with site inspections to gather data and ensure that fire system designs are practical and effective for specific project sites.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or similar.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical drafting with a focus on fire safety systems design.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software used for electrical/fire system drafting.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian Standards.
Attention to Detail: Excellent drafting and design skills with a strong eye for detail.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and liaising with clients and contractors.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other advanced drafting tools.Understanding of fire engineering principles and systems, such as fire alarm, detection, and suppression systems.
Previous experience in the commercial and residential sectors.
