The Client
Flow Detailing is a building solutions company located in Melbourne in VIC specialising in reinforced concrete detailing services.They seek an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team.
The Role
This is a full time position and is duly remunerated at an annual salary between $72,000 to $75,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Create and interpret specifications, blueprints, and plans to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
Examine structural frameworks to ensure they can withstand both static and dynamic forces, considering factors such as load-bearing capacity, durability, and safety.
Plan and engineer transportation infrastructures, including highways, rail systems, and aviation transport, ensuring they meet design specifications, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
Estimate the reinforcement requirements for structures to prevent unwanted collapse, bending, twisting, or excessive vibration, ensuring structural integrity and long-term stability.
Evaluate project blueprints and specifications to ensure that client deadlines, project milestones, and quality standards are consistently met.
Collaborate with contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders such as reinforcement material suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and resolution of technical issues.
Manage and supervise the reinforcement needs for construction projects from initial concept through to final completion, ensuring the application of appropriate engineering techniques and materials.
Track project advancement, manage Requests for Information (RFIs), and respond to inquiries related to construction drawings, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Develop and present project schedules and program reports to management and other stakeholders, including providing forecasts for the next three to four weeks to ensure proper resource allocation.
Track design modifications and assess the impact of these changes on reinforcement scheduling, making necessary adjustments to the timeline and resources to accommodate alterations.
The Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum two years of full-time work experience as a Civil Engineer
At least 2 years’ proficiency in software tools such as REVIT, BLUEBEAM, MONDAY, and Microsoft Project Management, alongside strong project management and construction process knowledge.
Skilled in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and structural analysis and design
A solid understanding of Australian civil engineering standards and industry practices.

Strong commitment to regulatory compliance, risk management, and innovation.
Demonstrates high-level planning, organisational skills, attention to detail, and robust analytical skills.
