About the role:

The Acute Pain Service is a 7-day service operating between 8.00am - 4.30pm, and weekend availability for this role is a must.

On a daily basis you will attend the Acute Pain Service ward round and employ advanced clinical skills to assess, plan, organise, deliver, and evaluate specialist person-centred care to achieve tailored clinical outcomes for each patient in conjunction with the APS medical staff, the patient, and their families/carer.

The Acute Pain Service is a dynamic and exciting service that can offer considerable opportunities for you to extend your clinical skills and support you taking your professional development to the next level. The APS team is comprised of APS Consultant, APS CNC 3, APS registrar and APS nurses.

There will be supernumerary shifts offered to the successful candidate(s), an orientation package, and ongoing support from the APS CNC and Medical Director.

You will receive ongoing training, support and professional growth opportunities including support to attend the Pain SIG.

About You:

  • Greater than 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience
  • Have expert clinical skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of pain management process including assessment and treatment options.
  • Are comfortable working autonomously and within a team
  • Have experience providing clinical education, undertaking clinical service development, improvement and/or innovation
  • Excellent communication skills

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
