Child Care Worker | Group Leader

We are currently seeking a Group Leader / Child Care Worker who shares our vision and is ready to take on a leadership role within our early childhood team.

Your Role

As Group Leader, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, and facilitating age-appropriate activities that align with Montessori values, supporting children's emotional, social, and cognitive growth in a respectful and inclusive environment.

Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation

• Lead a designated group of children in a Montessori-based learning environment
• Develop and implement daily programs and learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
• Observe and document children’s development, preparing reports and portfolios in line with NQF
• Provide emotional and developmental support tailored to individual child needs
• Supervise, mentor, and guide assistant educators in group care routines
• Build and maintain respectful, open communication with families
• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment, adhering to health and safety standards
• Support inclusive practices that respect cultural diversity and developmental needs
• Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification)
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a lead educator or group leader role
• Solid understanding of Montessori principles (formal Montessori training is highly desirable)
• Working knowledge of EYLF, NQF, and child safety regulations
• Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
• Valid Working with Children Check and First Aid
• A genuine passion for child development and respectful caregiving
