Job Description

• Support the general accounting functions including: Month end, budgeting and forecasting, cost variance and analysis.
• Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and managing accounting systems
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, identifying trends and making recommendations
• Ensure compliance with accounting laws and regulations
• Collaborate with auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up-to-date.
• Improve systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions when necessary.
• Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of the company's financial systems and processes.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Accountant should have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• A professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA
• Proven experience in a similar role within the energy and natural resources sector
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills.
