Job Summary:

• Australian Taxation Office
• State Revenue Office – Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania
• External Tax Accountant and Auditors
• Age Care Facilities and National Disability Insurance Agency

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Manage the preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Payroll tax returns, and other statutory requirements.
• Design and implement financial policies aligned with the needs of a physiotherapy service provider.
• Ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting for board members, management, and regulatory bodies.
• The preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors during audits.
• Assess income and expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving financial efficiency.
• Advise on business structures, strategic plans, and operational decisions to enhance financial performance.
• Evaluate cash flow, assess financial risks, and provide recommendations for capital investments.
• Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, corporate financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and support junior accounting staff where applicable.
• Oversee the adoption and maintenance of accounting software and financial reporting tools.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in Australia.
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws, GST, and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
• Membership or eligibility for membership with CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or IPA is desirable but not mandatory.

Employment Type:

Full Time Permanent Position – 38 hours Per Week

Salary Range

$75,000 to $85,000 plus Superannuation
