Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our team and manage financial operations, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulations. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing tax obligations, conducting financial analysis, and providing strategic financial advice to support business decision-making.The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software. - State Revenue Office – Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania
- External Tax Accountant and Auditors
- Age Care Facilities and National Disability Insurance Agency
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage the preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Payroll tax returns, and other statutory requirements.
- Design and implement financial policies aligned with the needs of a physiotherapy service provider.
- Ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting for board members, management, and regulatory bodies.
- The preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors during audits.
- Assess income and expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving financial efficiency.
- Advise on business structures, strategic plans, and operational decisions to enhance financial performance.
- Evaluate cash flow, assess financial risks, and provide recommendations for capital investments.
- Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, corporate financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and support junior accounting staff where applicable.
- Oversee the adoption and maintenance of accounting software and financial reporting tools.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in Australia.
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws, GST, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or IPA is desirable but not mandatory.

Salary Range
$75,000 to $85,000 plus Superannuation
