About the role:The Wall and Floor Tiler is responsible for preparing surfaces and expertly installing tiles to deliver high-quality finishes across residential and commercial projects.
Key Duties:- Prepares surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying waterproofing membranes as needed.
- Removes existing tiles and surface materials if necessary to prepare for new installation.
- Measures and marks areas accurately to ensure precise tile placement.
- Cuts and shapes tiles to fit around edges, corners, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Mixes and applies adhesives to secure tiles on floors, walls, and ceilings.
- Installs various types of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone, in residential and commercial settings.
- Applies grout and sealants, ensuring clean and even joints for a professional finish.
- Reads and interprets plans and specifications to follow design layouts and patterns.
- Conducts repair or replacement work on damaged or misaligned tiles.
- Follows all workplace health and safety standards, including the use of PPE.
- Proven experience in wall and floor tiling across residential and/or commercial projects. Please include previous project photos/videos, if you can.
- Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (or equivalent trade qualification).
- Possession of a valid White Card (Construction Induction Training).
- Skilled in cutting, shaping, and installing a wide range of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, stone, and mosaic.
- Competent in surface preparation, waterproofing application, and adhesive mixing.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship and clean finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to tiling and waterproofing (e.g. AS 3958, AS 3740).
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures and proper use of tools and PPE.
-Strong time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
