The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled an experienced Machinist, ideally with welding experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in machinery operation, fitting and turning, and welding. The Machinist will be responsible for producing high-quality parts and components, maintaining and troubleshooting machinery, and ensuring efficient production processes.
We are looking for a motivated ‘self starter’ able to work autonomously and offer support to the small proto-build/fabrication team.
Key Responsibilities:
Machinery Operation- Operate and maintain various types of machinery, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Perform fitting and turning tasks to create parts and components that meet strict tolerances.
- Use measuring tools such as micro-meters, calipers and gauges to ensure accuracy
- Conduct regular maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade qualification in fitting and turning or welding desirable.’
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a machinist role.
- Proven track record of working with a variety of machinery.
- Experience with CAD software highly regarded.
- Experience with Microsoft suite highly regarded.
- Experience with Welding well regarded.
Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Can do attitude.
