To support the ongoing improvements within the organisation, a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic is required at their flagship Grassdale Feedlot 35-minutes South of Dalby, QLD.
The RoleJoining an established maintenance team, the Heavy Diesel Mechanic is responsible for ensuring all plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard in order to minimise unplanned downtime and preserve safe operating conditions. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
Diagnosing faults on a range of mobile plant machinery throughout the feedlot, including routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
Ensuring all maintenance work is accurately recorded using the site’s maintenance management software (MEX).
Promoting a safety-first work environment through actively reducing risks and hazards, improving quality, and assisting with the ongoing development of Safe Work Methods.
Participating in continuous improvement strategies and supporting capital work projects when required.

Hourly Rates are $37.38 - $40.43/hr, working Monday to Friday day shifts. Ordinary hours are 80 hours per fortnight, and overtime is applied at 150% for hours worked beyond 10 hours per day, or beyond 80 per fortnight.
About You
With demonstrated experience in maintaining/repairing heavy vehicles, this role will ideally be suited to those with a desire to advance their career with a leading agribusiness. Whilst previous experience maintaining agricultural machinery, those from a Heavy Commercial, or Civil machinery background are still urged to apply. To be considered for the role, it’s important you can address the following criteria: Relevant Automotive Mechanical trade certificate and experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Experience maintaining associated machinery including Dozers, Excavators, Graders, Tractors, etc.Strong understanding of WH&S standards within a workshop environment.
Full Australian working rights and an open driver’s licence
Ability to pass a pre-employment health assessment
Other certification/licences desired for the role (or willingness to acquire) include: Certificate II in Automotive Airconditioning Technology
Auto-electrical knowledge and experienceHeavy Rigid truck licence
Forklift licence
