Occupation Tasks
Organises and controls the operations of restaurant to provide dining
  • Plans and coordinates the daily operations of a cafe, restaurant or related establishment
  • Manages and supervises staff, including hiring, training and performance evaluation
  • Oversees the preparation and presentation of food and beverages to ensure quality and customer satisfaction
  • Monitors inventory levels and orders supplies as needed
  • Manages budgets and financial transactions, including cash handling and reporting
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
  • Collaborates with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
Skills & Experience
Leadership
  • Responsible for recruitment of Restaurant & Bar Staff including advertising, qualification, interviews and offers
  • Onboard and train new recruits to the business
  • Identify potential and create a development plan for success
  • Allocate tasks on a shift by shift basis, and coordinate breaks
  • Provide weekly feedback on employees
  • Liaise regularly with Shift Managers/Shift Supervisors to ensure operational efficiencies are up to scratch
  • Hold employees to account for their positions and requirements
  • Motivate, Encourage and Lead by example
  • Implementing weekly meetings with leadership team & reporting by email the outcomes & assigned tasks to leaders that same day, following up & signing off in agreed time frames
Financial
  • 1 to 5 years experience in hospitality management
  • Reaching budget targets & forecasting for weekly and monthly finance reports
  • Understand and implement better GP on F&B alongside Chef
  • Conceptualise new ideas for increased profitability for the business
  • Checking accuracy, final approval & signing of all operational invoicing
  • Review current supplier beverage contracts to improve outcome where possible
  • Rostering correct staff for projected turn over within budget
  • Balancing End of Day, following up any discrepancies before trade next day where applicable
  • Manage stock & wastage
  • Reporting in specific time frames as requested
  • Staff wages approved/checked weekly
  • Stocktake achieved monthly
General
  • Venue is well presented, clean & hygienic
  • Ensure adequate stock & resources available
  • Marketing & Social Media input as requested/directed
  • Positive happy person to work alongside
  • Ability to build rapport with all customers especially locals.
  • High functioning & quick thinking in a fast-past environment
  • Enjoy facilitating teamwork and working within a team environment
  • POS operations & programming
  • Additional duties & responsibilities as required from time to time
Compliance Requirements
  • Food Safety – over-see implementation all food standards & safety
  • Responsible for servicing of equipment & maintenance – approval GM
  • Identify and report any faulty or damaged materials, equipment and workplace hazards rectify immediately
  • Complying with WHS & RSA systems & legislation
  • Comply with Ember’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure role is carried out in line with safe work practices.

Qualifications
Require Certificate 3 in hospitality
Certificate 4/5 – of benefit

Level 1 Sommelier accredited
