About the role
Gemelli Italian Broadbeach is looking for an experienced Pastry Cook to join our team. You will work closely with our Head Chef to ensure only the finest desserts are prepared for our patrons. This position is a rare opportunity and only serious candidates will be considered.
Duties
- Preparing raw fresh ingredients to produce a wide variety of desserts and pastries such as cannoli, tiramisu, gnocchetti, panna cotta, gelato and cakes
- Mixing and shaping dough, preparing fillings using a variety of ingredients such as chocolate, creams, and mascarpone cheese decorating desserts to be visually appealing
- Using only fresh ingredients, proportioning them as required and executing baking techniques with precision, to meet the highest taste and texture standards
- Collaborating with the head chef to follow and refine recipes but also to develop new desserts with flair, with innovative flavours while maintaining consistency and quality
- Being responsible for delivery and quality of the final products, to ensure desserts are ready to be sold at the required times in the required quantities
- Always working meeting health and safety regulations, by ensuring to keep equipment and kitchen clean and in best working order
Proven experience in this role for no less than 2 years (experience with Italian desserts preferred)
