Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 per year

Summary:
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the team at our Burleigh Heads facility. The purpose of this position is to provide analysis and reporting across the end-to-end operations function—covering product costings (actual vs standard), expense reviews, site forecasts and budgets, and other financial projects as required.

The role works with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reporting, system, and software solutions.

This position is based in Burleigh Heads, Queensland. Out-of-hours work may occasionally be required. Some regional travel may also be required, though this will be infrequent.

Reporting and Working Relationships:
This position reports to the Finance Manager and works closely with other departments and external stakeholders, including the Production and Warehouse teams. Initially, the role will support the Burleigh Heads site but may expand to cover requirements for other locations.

This position has no direct reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with stakeholders to scope and understand their requirements, developing reports and tools that are fit for purpose.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models and ETL solutions that meet defined specifications.
  • Manage projects and initiatives in the relevant business areas as directed.
  • Create documentation such as business cases, scope documents, and process flows.
  • Support business analysis and define cost and value outcomes for developed solutions.
  • Drive improvements to optimise business processes using monitoring, planning, analysis, and KPIs.
  • Report metrics and value delivered to stakeholders.
  • Recommend alternatives to proposed solutions when appropriate.
  • Document current processes and identify inefficiencies or gaps.
  • Analyse and report on actual vs standard costs including materials, labour, packaging, freight, overheads, and production variances.
  • Develop tools for losses and downgrades verification to ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Investigate expenses to identify cost drivers and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide product costing support for customer submissions, including data collation and review.
  • Contribute to site forecasts and budgets (annual and rolling).
  • Monitor DOA controls.
  • Prepare high-quality documentation and reports within deadlines.
  • Contribute to site projects relating to performance and manufacturing improvements.
  • Represent the site/team at meetings as required.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the team or business.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Finance Manager or Chief Financial Officer.
Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
  • Strong understanding of business process analysis, project management, and systems/reporting.
  • Ability to translate stakeholder needs into functional requirements and effective solutions.
  • Experience in manufacturing and costing is essential.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word in particular).
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment with a strong eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all organisational levels.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to lead or embrace change.
