Project Manager-Line marking
Position Overview
The Project Manager - Line Marking will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of line marking projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This role involves managing project team members, liaising with clients, and ensuring that all operational and financial objectives are met.
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and best practices, resourcing, materials and plant requirements are met and streamlined.
Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Scheduling:
Develop detailed project plans and schedules for line marking projects, assigning resources and setting timelines. Manage daily project operations to ensure effective execution.
  • Client & Stakeholder Liaison:
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining open communication and addressing any concerns. Ensure that project updates are communicated clearly and in a timely manner.
  • Resource Allocation & Management:
Coordinate Labor, equipment, and materials for each project. Ensure that teams are properly equipped and trained to carry out tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
Prepare project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial objectives are met. Identify opportunities for cost savings and ensure resources are used efficiently.
  • Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all line marking activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Lead safety briefings, conduct site inspections, and promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
Manage and support the line marking teams, providing leadership, guidance, and training as needed. Foster a positive working environment to motivate teams and drive productivity.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving:
Identify potential risks to project success and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively resolve issues that arise during project execution to avoid delays.
  • Quality Assurance & Control:
Oversee quality control processes to ensure that all work meets client specifications and company standards. Conduct site visits and audits to monitor progress and address any deviations.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of project activities, including progress reports, budgets, and safety documentation. Provide regular updates to senior management and clients.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Scope
  1. Ensure all projects are defined geographically and the Line marking requirements are identified prior to first site visit of crews:
  2. Read each contract.
  1. What is included – expected from Allstate Line marking
  2. What is not included – supplied by customer?
ii. Ensure site inspection/visit is undertaken if required.
iii. Ensure team project folders include all relevant information.
iv. Clarify specifications and ensure this is highlighted to crews.
  1. Clearly identify the scope of works on Job Cards
  1. Time
  1. Ensure the Line marking is delivered as per the customers’ requirements:
  2. Ensure a program of works (if requested) is created, monitored and updated.
ii. Ensure resources are available for delivery of line marking.
iii. Monitor productivity of crews and performance manage as required.
iv. Ensure mitigation strategy is in place.
  1. Cost
  1. Monitor and report of financials.
  2. Ensure terms of trade (invoice & retentions) in the system are as per contract.
ii. Review revenue and expenditure to ensure the project is profitable.
iii. Manage and resolve aged debt issues with the customer.
iv. Ensure all actual quantities are collected and entered into the system.
  1. Ensure statements and or phone calls are completed to retrieve moneys.

vi. Negotiate all NCR and back charge items to reduce costs.

vii. Ensure invoicing is completed correctly.
viii. Ensure Job cards are created with the correct tendered rates and any variation rates.
ix. Review staff numbers and costings for each project/job.
  1. Quality
  1. Ensure all compliance documentation is completed correctly.
  2. Ensure day sheets are completed correctly.
ii. Ensure equipment is calibrated.
iii. Ensure all tests and measurements for line marking compliance are recorded.
iv. Ensure all project management plans are correctly completed and submitted to customers as required.
  1. Ensure all SWMS are completed correctly and signed of
vi. Ensure NCRs are created and submitted for processing.
  1. Risk
  1. Monitor risk daily to ensure smooth operation.
  2. Communicate delivery options with operational team.
ii. Complete and submit individual Risk Management Plan with Project Plan as required.
iii. Monitor labour, plant and Sub-contract risks for delivery of Line marking on time.
iv. Evaluate risks daily and mitigate as required.
  1. Safety
  1. Monitor the team/s to ensure all safety requirements are meet:
  2. Ensure employees are aware of site-specific safety requirements.
ii. Ensure all PPE required for the work is available.
iii. Ensure Safety plans are created per project as required.
iv. Ensure plant prestart checklists are completed.
  1. Ensure all SWMS are completed correctly and signed of
vi. Ensure Work Incident Report forms are completed for any incidents, injuries or near misses.
  1. Environment
  1. Review projects to ensure Environmental requirements are controlled:
  2. Complete environmental plan per project as required.
ii. Ensure spill kits are readily available on all vehicles.
iii. Ensure Work Incident Report forms are completed for any incidents.
  1. Traffic Control
  1. Ensure all traffic documentation is completed and or submitted.
  2. Complete traffic control plan per project as required.
ii. Ensure traffic control diagrams are available and a copy with the crew.
iii. Ensure employee adequately trained to perform traffic control.
iv. Ensure permits are completed and or obtained prior to work.
  1. Ensure ROL’s are in place if required.
vi. Ensure erection of traffic control signage is recorded correctly.
  1. Transport
  1. Ensure all transport is conducted as per regulations.
  2. Ensure heavy vehicle logbooks completed and submitted for review.
ii. Ensure local storage areas are identified for each project.
iii. Ensure material is transported economically to each project.
  1. Communication
  1. Ensure all stakeholders are communicated to regularly/as required.
  2. Ensure prestart meetings are held and site-specific issues identified and clarified.
ii. Ensure all actions from meeting are completed.
iii. Provide verbal and written feedback to customers on project issues.
iv. Contact customers directly after any Non-conformance or Workplace Incidents.
  1. Ensure all project reports are completed as per contract.
vi. Communicate with General Manager on all major issues.
vii. Provide written project reports as required.
  1. Integration
  1. Ensure communication with other project/delivery coordinators.
  2. Discuss resource requirements at weekly scheduling meetings.
ii. Pass on any learning to the operational team.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience in line marking or civil construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of line marking techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and risk management practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various project sites.

The role reports to and supports the delivery manager.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
