Requirements

People and Culture Business Partner (Global) – Sydney

We are seeking a People and Culture Business Partner to help grow, develop and unleash the full potential of our globally distributed team. This exciting new role will lead and elevate our talent management, employee engagement, and HR operations in partnership with our external HR advisors.

You will oversee workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee development, and compensation strategies, ensuring alignment with our business goals and fostering a thriving, engaged team.

Key Points to be Aware Of:

  • Experience in Consulting Companies: The ideal candidate will have professional services or technology consultancy experience, ensuring they understand the intricacies of working as an engineer or consultant within a professional services firm.
  • After-Hours Coordination: Availability to synchronise with the UK team, primarily on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Hybrid Working: Work from our Darlinghurst office three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel to New Zealand and the UK as needed.
  • Hands-On and Strategic Planning: This role involves hands on setting up systems, writing job descriptions, and creating documents while also requiring strategic planning to guide and manage others effectively.
  • Team Management: Lead a growing team of 4-5+ members, including Sydney and Christchurch Office Coordinators, two Talent Acquisition Specialists, and a London Office Manager.
  1. Talent Planning
  • Workforce and Succession Planning: Collaborate with consulting and technology leads to accurately assess the current talent base, capabilities, and experience levels. Develop a comprehensive understanding of our workforce to identify skills gaps and future talent needs.
  • Talent and Capability: Implement processes and systems to understand the organisation's talent, capabilities, and experience. Regularly assess and update talent profiles to reflect the evolving skills and experiences of team members.
  • Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with consulting and technology leads to ensure alignment between workforce planning and business objectives. Facilitate ongoing communication to adapt workforce strategies to changing client and project requirements.
  1. Talent Acquisition and Management
  • Talent Acquisition Roadmap: Design and implement a talent acquisition roadmap that aligns with the company's business goals and growth plans. Ensure the roadmap addresses both immediate and long-term hiring needs to support the organisation's objectives.
  • Recruitment Strategy: Partnering with our in-house talent acquisition team, develop and oversee innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent globally.
  • Onboarding Process: Manage a comprehensive, employee-centric onboarding process to integrate new team members effectively.
  1. Employee Development and Engagement
  • Training and Development: Implement training programmes and professional development opportunities to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Performance Management: Oversee performance review processes, including goal setting, feedback, and performance appraisals.
  • Employee Engagement: Develop and manage initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  1. Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Reviews: Conduct regular salary reviews and market comparisons to ensure competitive pay structures.
  1. HR Operations and Compliance (Delivered in Conjunction with our External HR Advisors)
  • Policy Development: Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
  • HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with global labour laws and regulations, managing risk and avoiding legal issues.
  • HR Technology: Implement and manage HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR technologies to streamline operations.
  1. Culture and Employer Branding
  • Company Culture: Foster and promote a positive and inclusive company culture that aligns with the company's values.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Develop and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives to create a diverse workforce.
  • Employer Branding: Enhance the company’s employer brand to attract and retain top talent.
  1. Employee Relations and Communication
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
  • Internal Communication: Develop and oversee internal communication strategies to ensure effective information flow within the organisation.
  • Feedback Mechanisms: Implement mechanisms for collecting and responding to employee feedback.
  1. Visa and Immigration Management
  • Visa and Immigration Oversight: Oversee and manage relationships with region-specific visa and immigration experts. Ensure compliance with global immigration laws and manage the smooth running of visa and work rights programmes.
  • Relocation Management: Design and manage a comprehensive relocation programme, including relocation allowances and facilitation of relocations for employees. Ensure a smooth transition for team members moving between regions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Hands-On Experience: Proven experience in a senior HR or People Operations role within a global professional services or technology consultancy.
  • Talent Planning and Acquisition: Expertise in workforce planning, talent assessment, and developing innovative recruitment strategies to attract top global talent.
  • Employee Development: Strong background in implementing training programmes, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Proficiency in designing and managing competitive compensation packages and benefits programmes.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to leverage HR metrics and analytics to inform strategic decisions and generate insightful reports.
  • Executive Collaboration: Demonstrated capability to work closely with senior leadership to align People Operations strategies with business objectives.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent ability to manage employee relations, internal communication, and feedback mechanisms.
