Chef

The Chef at Sleepy Lagoon Hotel is responsible for preparing high-quality meals that align with our pub-style menu while maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen. This role requires creativity, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including pub classics and daily specials.
• Assist in menu planning and development to ensure a diverse and appealing offering.
• Ensure high-quality food presentation and consistency in taste.
• Monitor and manage stock levels, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff as required.
• Handle special dietary requests and customer preferences.
• Adhere to Gin Gin Hotel’s standards for food quality, portion control, and presentation.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a pub, restaurant, or hospitality venue.
• Formal culinary qualifications (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Creativity in menu planning and dish presentation.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
