Safety & Training Officer | State Gov | 6 Month Contract
This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading
This role will partner with relevant Managers and Business Unit Representatives ensuring the effective implementation of the Health Safety Environment Management System across Technical Services, as well as provide professional safety advise to Technical Services personnel on a wide range of Project activities within the department.
In addition , yhis role will assist in ensuring the training needs of Technical Services are adequately identified and addressed in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties and Accountabilities:
- Assist in the implementation and review the Technical Services Health and Safety Strategy as part of the broader requirements.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety plans, procedures, systems and processes, which support the organisation to effectively deliver business outcomes.
- Support the development, coordination and implementation of an auditing schedule to facilitate continual improvement of the Technical Services HSEMS.
- Assist in the development of statistical reports on the performance of the HSEMS and associated projects to facilitate management review and continual improvement.
- Understand and incorporate project and operational risk assessment processes into management plans and be able to facilitate workshops to characterise relevant risks and controls.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of health and safety programs which support management and staff in meeting legislative compliance and strategic objectives.
- Assist in the review of the training needs analysis for the Business Unit liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure its ongoing effectiveness.
- Liaise with key stakeholders with the aim of influencing and contributing to the strategies to the work health and safety agenda.
- Provide support in ensuring the Technical Services HSEMS is developed in compliance to relevant legislation where required.
- Other duties as directed and required.
Role Requirements:
- Oil and Gas / mining industry experience is desirable.
- C Class Driver's License is essential.
- Overnight travel and work away from home may be a requirement of this role.
