About Our Client
A national organisation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buying Administrative Assistant to join their vibrant and collaborative head office team. This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone with a passion for furniture and home wares, eager to work in a dynamic environment that values creativity and precision.
Job Description- Provide general administrative support across multiple categories: Furniture, Home Decorative, Kitchen, Top of Bed, and Bathroom.
- Handle day-to-day administration tasks such as filing, updating records, managing calendars, and preparing reports.
- Coordinate product registration, manage purchase orders, and oversee the production process from concept through to bulk production.
- Facilitate the sampling process and ensure packaging requirements are met.
- Manage samples for internal photo shoots and online advertising.
- Prepare and maintain product databases and ensure all product information is accurately documented.
- Address and communicate quality issues, material updates, and data changes to relevant teams.
- Liaise with suppliers for documentation, invoices, and contracts to ensure compliance with time lines.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including VM, Finance, Retail Support, Warehouse, and Marketing.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers during the product development process.
- Exceptional time management, organisation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, with intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and understand the commercial impact of external factors on a retail business.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data and calculate gross margins.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of textile and furniture construction is advantageous but not essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline are recommended.
