Agricultural (Poultry) Technician

The primary purpose is to help with the requirement the farming operations at Caravan Eggs and or Green Eggs and to help maintain the farm’s Level 2 Egg Standards of Australian (ESA) certification. You will work closely with the Managing Director however will require self-motivation on completing tasks and directing farm hands at lower levels.

• Undertake egg collection and sorting
• Undertake egg grading and packing
• Maintain accurate record keeping of egg data
• Assist with the feeding and watering of all farm animals
• Carry out drenching and vaccination of birds via water tanks as required
• Ensure ammonia levels are checked and within the guidelines
• Ensure the health and wellbeing of all farm animals are maintained
• Identify sick or injured birds and dispose of deceased birds appropriately
• Loading and unloading of orders to pallets in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist with delivery driver duties as required
• Conduct maintenance duties as required including but not limited to feeders, drinkers, pop holes, sheds
• Assist with the clean out of sheds including but not limited to timelines, sub-contractors, pressure washing
• Maintain clean and tidy environments including but not limited to grading floor, cool room, egg collection area and nest area
• Operate forklift and/or HR truck to transport eggs and unload/load trucks
• Seek to identify and present quality improvements in line with ESA accreditation guidelines to the Managing Director
• Continuously review and identify and present any farm improvements that could increase productivity and efficiency to the Managing Director
• Routine maintenance of plant, machinery, tools and equipment.
