Your Team & Role:

The purpose of the role is to design, implement, and maintain robust data infrastructure and pipelines that enable data-driven decision-making and products. Senior Data Engineers are responsible for delivering high-quality work across the entire data engineering lifecycle, contributing to architectural discussions, and mentoring junior team members.

What you will be doing:

  • Design and implement scalable data models and pipelines that meet changing business requirements
  • Ensure data quality through implementation of verification and cleaning processes
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and write design documents for solutions
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and best practices
  • Proactively identify and address issues that may hinder performance or project success
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to align data engineering work with broader business objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate new technologies and methodologies in the data engineering field
  • Take ownership of critical projects and deliver impactful solutions

What you will bring:

  • Thorough grasp of data engineering architectural patterns and approaches, from dimensional modelling to event driven architectures
  • Knowledge of best practices in code quality, testing, and data pipeline construction
  • Experience working with multi-account AWS setups and cross-account resource management
  • Strength in data pipeline orchestration and ETL processes
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
  • In-depth understanding of data security and access management in cloud environments
  • Advanced understanding of data modelling methodologies (e.g., Kimball dimensional modelling)
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance
  • Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark and other relevant languages
  • Ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable, and efficient data solutions serving real time data to product teams
