CENTRAL BUILDING SUPPLIES PTY LTD is renowned for its reliability, affordability, and exceptional service, offering a wide range of products, including foam panels, render, moulding, paint, tools, and accessories, to support professional tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts alike.
As a Retail Buyer, you will play a key role in sourcing and curating a high-quality product range, ensuring all materials meet rigorous standards for quality and functionality. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of industry trends, and a commitment to delivering the best solutions to customers in the building supplies sector.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks- Identify and source high-quality building and construction materials, including foam panels, render, moulding, paint, tools, and accessories, from trusted suppliers.
- Monitor sales data and stock levels to identify trends and ensure optimal inventory management, maintaining sufficient stock of popular items while minimizing overstock.
- Stay updated on market conditions and research potential suppliers and innovative products to expand the selection of quality building materials.
- Determine purchasing quantities and align product selection with customer needs and industry trends.
- Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate favourable terms, promotions, and supply arrangements to optimize costs.
- Develop and implement pricing, marketing, and display strategies tailored to industry trends, and customer preferences.
- Work closely with management to align purchasing decisions with the company's long-term business plans and goals.
- Create and adapt procurement plans based on seasonal trends, market dynamics, and customer demand.
- Anticipate customer demand and trends in the building supplies industry, factoring in external influences such as weather, holidays, or market shifts.
- Conduct ongoing market research and regularly review and update the inventory to feature the latest innovations and durable materials, ensuring a competitive and cutting-edge product selection that remains reliable.
- Strategically introduce and manage product offerings, using performance data to expand, maintain, or discontinue items.
- Ensure all products meet the company’s high standards for quality and reliability, supporting successful construction projects for customers.
- Relevant qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Retail Buyer or similar role.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong ability to analyse market trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Detail-oriented with great organizational and time management skills.
Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $85,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
