As a Naturalist Guide, you will design, present, and deliver inspiring nature-based tours and educational experiences that showcase the island’s unique environment, engage our guests, and support safe, efficient operations across the Activities Department.

What you will do?:

  • Deliver engaging tours and nature-based experiences with accurate, inspiring interpretation
  • Facilitate activities such as kayaking and paddle boarding, ensuring guest safety and enjoyment
  • Enhance operations by supporting logistics, scheduling, and equipment maintenance
  • Promote safety and sustainability through compliance with OH&S and environmental policies
  • Drive revenue by upselling tours and supporting marketing initiatives during guest interactions

More about you:

  • Degree or certification in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Tourism, or similar (preferred), plus First Aid & CPR; Open Water Diver and manual driver’s licence advantageous
  • Proven experience in guiding, ecotourism, or outdoor education, ideally in resort or tourism settings
  • Strong understanding of Great Barrier Reef ecosystems, island flora/fauna, and sustainable tourism practices
  • Exceptional communication, guest engagement, and safety awareness
  • Commercial mindset with ability to upsell experiences and collaborate effectively with team members
