The Client

Everlast Services is a family owned, specialising modern, affordable, superior quality fencing, gates, decking, concreting, landscaping & building supplies. They seek to employ a Production Manager with relevant experience to join their team.

The Role

This is a full time position with an annual salary of $95,000 including superannuation, and will be based in Laverton North, VIC.

The Responsibilities

Develop and implement production strategies and plans to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness

Plan production activities based on quality, quantity, cost, time, and labour needs.

Control the production plant and quality procedures through maintenance planning, tool supply, and scheduling operating hours

Monitor production output and costs, adjusting processes and resources to minimize costs while maintaining quality

Communicate production updates and challenges to other managers to ensure smooth coordination

Oversee the acquisition and installation of new equipment to enhance production capacity and efficiency

Lead research into production methods and recommend improvements to boost efficiency and product quality

Lead and manage a team of experienced operators through coaching and mentoring

Responsibility for shift operations during production cycles

Investigate, analyse, and implement preventative actions for quality and safety incidents

Assist in developing standards for each procedure resulting in the standardization of operations and improved quality for all products

Facilitate the delivery of training

Complete plant risk assessments and integrate the safety controls in to the operating procedures to clearly define the expectations and hold people accountable for all the tasks they undertake

Contribute to updating of current operating procedures, including using pictures to improve understanding for those where English is a second language.

Integrate into procedures the process improvements from the extensive ongoing

CI programs.

Prepare and control production records and reports to ensure accurate documentation of production activities

Coordinate occupational health and safety compliance to maintain a safe working environment

Manage and direct production staff activities, setting performance goals and providing feedback for improvement

Evaluate and optimize production workflows to ensure the best use of time, resources, and manpower

Ensure adherence to environmental and regulatory standards in all production activities and processes

The Requirements

Relevant Bachelor degree in Commerce or Business discipline

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production management role

At least 3 years of experience in managing teams, overseeing production operations

A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in process optimization, cost management, and implementing lean manufacturing principles

At least 3 years of experience working with ERP or production planning software to manage resources, schedules, and track production metrics

Proficiency in software such as SAP, Microsoft Project,

Knowledge of production management principles, theories and processes

High energy levels appropriate to a dynamic, fast paced work environment

Ability to develop and implement innovative production solutions to achieve the most optimal and efficient production outcome

Able to work independently and within a team setting under pressure

Strong communication and organisational skills to build business relationship

Possess critical and analytical thinking skills to lead a procurement department
